Final Blog

A couple weeks ago I emailed a teacher from the middle school asking her to use her classroom for my tutoring event but unfortunately she didn't respond. I believe that because I did not manage my time correctly my 20% project was not accomplished. Currently this week I am preparing for my TED talk. I am going to talk about the facts and reasonings of managing time. 

Here is an email I sent to an old middle school teacher regarding a request for needing her help on my 20% project. Once she replies I will move further with my event. My next step is to get students from the high school to sign up to help.

 

I am currently sick this week and have not done much on my project. I am planning on contacting my teacher about using her classroom for my event. 

Last week, I emailed the librarian to see if the library will be available to use. I have not gotten a response yet so I went to go talk to an old teacher from the middle school. I discussed with her about what I want to do with my project and she agreed that it's a good idea. She then suggest to do the event the week after spring break. She then told me if I don't get a response from the library then she offered to let me use her classroom for this event. My next step is too decide on what week to begin my project. 

Today, while doing my 20% project I have decided to change some things. Not only do I want to set up days to tutor students I also want to help them study for their CST's and get prepared for there next year in middle school. While working on this, I sent a email to the library clerk asking to see if it is possible to use the library for this event. After her response I will then email teachers to let their students know about it so they could take advantage of it. Also, to get the word out I want to see if I can put it into an announcement in the middle school side so that everyone could know about it. 

My Goal

I have much to accomplish in my 20% project but today I am focused on 3 things. They are to make a sign up sheet for students who want to volunteer to tutor, email teachers and the librarian and tell them about my idea, and plan out days and a location to tutor students. My goal for today is to get these 3 things done so I can accomplish more upcoming things in my project.

My strength

I have decided that "Relator" being one of my strengths I could use it in my 20% project to connect with students who need help with their school work. My strength naturally connects with my project because it involves working hard with others to achieve a goal. Using this strength I could communicate with teachers to get together middle school students who are struggling in their academics. Also by using this strength i could make my project a ultimate success by communicating and getting to know others to help out students
